This publication is the transmission system operators' forecast for electricity volumes from other renewable energy sources in quarter-hourly resolution, which are sold on the previous day's spot market of an electricity exchange via a market-linked auction with hourly trading products for each hour of the following day. In Germany, "other renewable energy sources" (in addition to solar and wind energy) primarily include biomass, hydropower and geothermal energy. The quantity sold corresponds to the arithmetic hourly average of the forecast values rounded to MW with one decimal place.
Note: With the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) 2023, the previously required physical horizontal load balancing between the four transmission system operators no longer applies.
Since then, each transmission system operator has only marketed the electricity volumes generated in its own control area, which has led to shifts between the transmission system operators with regard to the electricity volumes they market after the changeover date of December 15, 2022.
